Fried Okra

Soak the sliced okra in cold water for 10 minutes. Drain and re-soak for an additional 5 minutes. Drain, rinse and pat dry. Heat a 1/2" of oil over medium heat in a frying pan or small sauce pan. Mix the corn meal, salt, pepper and paprika in a bowl. Toss the okra with the corm meal mixture and shake off any excess. Fry the okra for 5 to minutes and drain on paper towels. Serve with a chili sauce or ketchup.
